Meet at the car park on roundabout of A264 near Faygate at 9:00 – All welcome. Groups to be decided on the day. .
Circular Route (39.00 miles, 2850ft ascent)
Shorter, flatter route (34.6 miles, 2637ft ascent)
For those wishing (and insane enough) to ride up to the meet point in Faygate:
Burgess Hill to Faygate (14.79 miles, 787ft ascent)
This ride starts from the car park on the A264 near Faygate, just East of the roundabout, NOT Ditchling Village Hall.
Start point location: The Cabin Cafe on the A264 – RH12 4SE. Some people got messages from the cafe proprietor on their windscreen last time; I think that provided the way in/out for lorries is kept clear it should be OK. If there are too many cars then some might consider parking up the road
I am reliably informed that it is very busy/slow at the National Trust cafe on Box Hill. I didn’t find anywhere suitable after that point but you may consider refuelling at the Ryka’s Cafe before the start of the hill climb (bring some aluminium foil and put your bacon sandwich in your back pocket to eat at the top!).
