  • Hmm … Helen’s pop-up cafés are always worth going out of your way for, but I’m not convinced that the long detour to Glynde on the suggested normal route (51 km / 32 miles before the tea stop, 94 km / 59 miles overall) works at anything less than Group 2 pace. If you’re riding with Group 3 or Group 4, try this: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/20101929, which is a variation on the southerly return route and which should get you to the tea stop by 11:30 – overall distance, 84 km / 53 miles.

    • Ashley,

Thanks for your comments. I always find the drag up from Gold Golden cross to Boship Round about busy and unpleasant hence the route via Glynde (missing out the long climb out of Ringmer). Though the route is longer it is flat and I think nicer. Group 3/4 typically keep a good pace on the flat.
Currently the weather conditions are looking favourable with a light Southerly breeze.
The purpose of the pop-up is to to experience something a bit different including a new location and new roads for some.

Your route has been added to the list of options for the day so that it is more clearly available to the ride leaders/groups to choose from.

      Steve
