Once again, Sussex Nomads are delighted to be running our annual hill climb on the 18th October at the legendary Ditchling Beacon. Many of us have climbed it (or possibly walked) during the London to Brighton bike ride, where the conversation noticeably falls away to silence a few miles before Ditchling as riders contemplate the challenge that lies before them.
Organised on closed roads, this is a great opportunity to go for a PB on this famous climb. Due to the closed roads, the event is also open to Juniors - why not come and have a try!
For those of us who are keen hill climbers, the Ditchling Beacon event is the final event of the South Downs Hill Climb Series - Possibly the best hill climb series in the world! This year the series comprises 10 events, one Junior and nine adult, with a new climb at Turkey Island. The series starts with the Junior event at Stanmer Park on the 12th September, with the first adult event at Knights Hill on the 27th September. More details can be found on the series website.
The series is always well supported by local businesses and this year we’d like to send a special thank you to our sponsors:
